Meet the gals...
Oh hey! We’re Jess and Mikaelah — the duo behind &honey.
Jess is a midwife, antenatal educator, and mum who’s passionate about empowering people through pregnancy and beyond. Mikaelah’s a mum, photographer, and bit of a birth nerd.
We first met when Mikaelah showed up to one of Jess’ antenatal classes and the chat hasn’t really stopped since. A few babies, a few bold ideas, and a ridiculous number of voice notes later — &honey was born.
We wanted to create something that felt different. Not another baby store — but a space that’s actually for mums. For the stretch-marked, sleep-deprived, figuring-it-out-as-you-go club.
We’re so glad you’re here.

from 51 reviewsUsed in labour and Mum said it was really good to reduce pain from contractions
I didn’t know about the tens machine for my first birth. I wish I did! My friend recommended it, and I thought I’d try it for the birth of my second child. It’s such a simple sounding device but it was so effective! My husband helped me put it on when my contractions started getting more regular. I liked how I could increase the power, and it gave me something else to focus on, aside from my breathing, during contractions. There were a couple of times I accidentally turned it off mid-contraction and I really noticed the difference! At those points I was basically scrambling to get it working again. I would 1000% use it again and can’t recommend it enough! It’s a genius invention! It allowed me to breathe through contractions in a way that sped up my labour hugely compared to my first birth.
Amazing fit for birth pool. nice and snug and goes to the base (externally) so no concern about it slipping up.
Great alternative to plastic clip. Would use again and would recommend.
So pleased with these. I was tempted to look at cheaper options but the quality of these is great. They're actually spikey just like a shataki mat. I suspect they'll be super useful in labour. Will update once I make it to the other side!
So happy to offer our clients these amazing birth balls for pain relief. Communication with &honey is always very warm, open and clear. Thanks!
I absolutely loved using these balls in my first labour and they were the first thing that I have packed in labour bag as I await the arrival of my second baby. Many friends have also borrowed them with great feedback!
Super comfy, will be getting more pairs for sure!
Excellent product and I appreciate that it’s affordable. It’s great to be identifiable in all kinds of clinical settings and in the community - avoiding awkward “who are you” conversations with other clinical staff. In theatre having names and roles on your theatre hat in theatre is encouraged, but having it on your lanyard is great for those who aren’t wearing theatre hats all day.
We used the Muka tie instead of a standard umbilical clamp and defo recommend. It’s softer, more comfortable for our baby, and feels much more natural. The clamp always seemed a bit harsh and plastic-y – the Muka tie just feels gentler and more in tune with the whole birth experience.
Loved using these as another tool to focus on while in labour. If I forgot to pick them up for a surge I really notice it. They worked so well with the tens machine too
I am so grateful to have had the tens machine. I got to 8cm before a planned epidural.
Your birth weapon has been a lifesaver during my birth and postpartum! These took away my pain during birth and a perfect size for squeezing in hands! My postpartum usage has been frequent with massaging sore muscles and feet! I definitely recommend getting these! You won't regret it!
These balls are amazing! As a doula and birth educator I have used and talked about the trusty comb for many years. But these balls are far superior. I used them at a birth last week and the mum found them more effective than a comb.
The birth weapon is fabulous and a great piece of kit for doulas, pregnant people and birth educators.
